Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil Drill Down

  • Blue: Nourishing & hydration
  • Green: Suitable for oily skin
  • Pink: Might cause irritation

Soybean Oil: It is an emollient agent for cosmetic formulations aimed at body or hair treatment. It recovers the skin barrier function.

Camellia Japonica Seed Oil:  It can be used as an emollient in a wide range of skincare products. Due to its fatty acid composition, it has excellent occlusive properties, enabling it to act as a moisturizing agent and a skin conditioner.

Evening Primrose Oil: It is an oil extremely high in gamma-linolenic acid. This essential fatty acid is ideal for use in products designed for anti-aging protection against environmental stresses and healing.

Jojoba oil: It is a natural moisturizer that does not leave a greasy residue. It mimics natural human sebum unlike any other moisturizer and acts as a great vehicle for the skin’s absorption of other active compounds and essential oils. Research has shown its potential to assist in cell proliferation as well as offer anti-inflammatory properties.

Sunflower Seed Oil: It is extremely high in linoleic acid. It is emollient, spreadable, and possesses excellent stability. It is quick-penetrating and highly moisturizing.

Argan Oil: It is a yellow limpid liquid, cold-pressed oil obtained from the non-roasted organic kernels of the fruits of “Argania Spinosa” from Morocco. It is organic and considered a luxurious oil because of its hydrating, regenerating , restructuring, and skin softening effects.

Rice Bran Oil: It is used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and for its impact on the moisturization of the skin.

Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake): It contains an abundance of active polypeptides, amino acids, lactic acid, phytic acid, ferulic acid, phytate, sterols, and other active factors. These active factors can be quickly absorbed by the skin, increase cell activity, repair damaged cells, anti-aging, improve overall skin appearance.

Orange Oil: It is a concentrated aromatic and flavor ingredient which may be used in flavor and fragrance

Limonene: Chemical constituent of many natural fragrant ingredients, notably citrus oils such as lemon (d-limonene) and pine trees or species of the mint family (l-limonene). Topically, limonene can cause sensitivity but also has strong antioxidant benefits and has also been shown to calm skin; however, when exposed to air, these highly volatile antioxidant compounds oxidize and become capable of sensitizing skin.

Linalool: Fragrant component of lavender and coriander that can be a potent skin sensitizer.

Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil Review

  • Testing period: I have been using the product since 9/25/2020 to now (11/10/2020) so it’s been about 1.5 month
  • Frequency: I have been using it once everyday, only at night
  • My skin type: I have combination skin where forehead/nose/chin area being oily and cheeks being slightly dry
  • Why did I try this product?: As I’m an avid seeker looking for any product that helps improve whiteheads, I wanted to try an oil cleanser. I’ve heard oil cleansers help remove blackheads and whiteheads. Within this category, I picked Manyo Pure Cleanser since I knew it has been a steady best-seller for a long time in Korea.

What I like about Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil

#1 Removes makeup well

First and foremost, a nice cleanser should literally cleanse well all the makeup and any residual. I would like to give a high score to Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil in this regard. It gently removes all the makeup including strong mascara or brow products. I even don’t need to use a second cleanser since it completely removes everything.

#2 Helps remove whiteheads

Whiteheads have always been my skin concern since I was in early 20s. Blackheads were my major concern when I was a teenager and they were started to be replaced by whiteheads when I turned into 20s.

This product is supposed to help improve both blackheads and whiteheads. Based on my experience with this product for the last 1.5 months, I would say it does help reduce whiteheads – not dramatically, but slightly though.

I saw some reviews saying that it helps to extract whiteheads so well that you can actually feel them rolling around your face once you start using this cleanser. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened to me but I did notice that whiteheads were reduced after using this product. However, for complete removal, I still had to use CNP Anti-Pore Black Head Clear Kit once every week or every two weeks.

#3 Not drying after use

I loved how this cleanser keeps your skin moisturized while it thoroughly cleanses your face. Normally, I found some cleansers that were good in cleansing made my skin so dry after use. Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil definitely did not miss any one of those two benefits!

#4 Packaging and Cruelty Free

I was impressed by the product box containing the description details of the product instead of a separate sheet like most other brands/products have. I believe it will help reduce usage of extra paper. Manyo also uses packages made of recycled paper and soy ink for some products like Our Vegan Sun Fluid Glow. Happy to see such efforts from the brand!

The brand also claims to be cruelty free (does not test on animals) and supports KARA (Korean Animal Rights Advocates), a local animal rights NGO.

What I dislike about Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil

Fragrance. It felt a little bit artificial (orange like) as well as it comes from fragrant ingredients such as orange oil and linalool. I didn’t experience any irritation but if you have very sensitive skin, especially to fragrant ingredients, you might have to avoid this product.

Pro Tip to use Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil

The official manyo product detail page suggests using 4 pumps at one time, which sounds quite generous to me! Then you roll 4 areas – cheek, forehead, eyes, T zone. After that, you put some water on your face and emulsify by gently rolling for 40 seconds.

I personally found 4 pumps were too much. However, it will be a good starting amount for you to try and then you might want to adjust for your needs. I personally use 3 pumps each time.

Rating ★★★★☆

One of the best cleansing oils that I’ve ever used so far

I’ve used cleansing oils from Bobbi Brown, Shu Uemura, Paula’s Choice, and Sulhwasoo so far, and Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil showed the best effectiveness in cleansing and improving whiteheads at the same time. Price is also a huge pro. However, I took out one star due to its fragrant ingredients.
