Mixsoon Bean Essence Honest Review

Why I tried Mixsoon Bean Essence

Whitehead and exfoliation feel like a permanent issue for my skin. For me, by aging, black heads just naturally have faded away. But the white heads! They just keep showing up every day whatever I do. Even though I love CNP Anti-Pore Black Head Clear Kit for removing white heads, this product is quite pricey for daily use.

As the weather gets cold and dry, white heads started to stand out even more. So I started browsing Youtube with the keyword of ‘white heads’. Then the videos about Mixsoon Bean Essence came up. I’ve heard about the brand and this product, but didn’t know about the details. After watching a couple of videos praising it, I decided to give it a try.

What does Mixsoon Bean Essence Do for your skin?

Mixsoon Bean Essence is, like its name says, an essence. In most cases, essence is considered like a serum, moisturizing or providing anti-aging or brightening benefits. Mixsoon Bean Essence is somewhat unique as it is “exfoliating” yet “moisturizing” essence. Most of the exfoliants are supposed to focus only on exfoliating or have supplementary moisturizing effect while Mixsoon Bean Essence claims itself to do the both equally.

Its official website recommends to either use it as a moisturizer (absorb it right away) or an exfoliant (massage your face with it and wipe it out) . I found Big YouTubers recommend using it as the latter.

My journey with Mixsoon Bean Essence

So at first, like some of the big YouTubers recommended, I used it as an exfoliant. I pumped the essence on my face, rolled my face with it for a few minutes until tiny little dead skin cells started to come out. Then I cleaned my face with water, then finished up with a moisturizer.

My skin looked bright, glowy, and more lively the next day. White heads around my nose and chin, especially the chin, were removed quite effectively. I was impressed. BUT it was a little bit dry for me. I think it’s because of the weather and my skin has become very dry. So after a few times doing that, I stopped using it for a massage and just started to use it just like a normal serum or moisturizer. I put the essence right on to my face and absorbed it. This way, the white heads were not removed as effectively (as expected), but my skin felt less dry.

What I like about Mixsoon Bean Essence

Now it has been about a month since I used Mixsoon Bean Essence and I’m enjoying it quite a lot. I use it almost every other day. It feels more gentle than BHA or AHA exfoliants and I like the fact that it exfoliates yet moisturizes my skin at the same time. I do use another moisturizer after using Mixsoon Bean Essence to lock the hydration.

I also like how versatile it is. For the days I want to exfoliate further, like the nose or chin area, I gently massage only those areas and wipe them out with toner or just lightly clean the areas with water. I massage all over my face sometimes.

Another point I like is that I don’t need to use a cotton pad. With exfoliating liquid or toners, I’m concerned if it’s too aggressive to use the cotton pad and rub it on my face with the exfoliator already being sort of… aggressive (as it’s supposed to remove dead skin cells!). I feel much comfortable and gentle using my fingers when I rub my face and Mixsoon Bean Essence works great with my fingers 🙂

Oh, and last but not least, Mixsoon Bean Essence is fragrance-free. I remember the fermented products that I had used in the past had unpleasant scent but this product does not have it.

What I don’t like about Mixsoon Bean Essence

It’s not I don’t like about but one thing I noticed is that I consume it much faster compared to the other products. It’s been a one month and using it every other day, I already used almost a quarter of the bottle. Probably because I use it more generously when I massage my nose and chin area.

Well, it is recommended to use this product within 6 months after opening anyways, so I guess I’m right on pace.

I also found the texture of this product very unique, and as it becomes like a long web when I pump it on my hand and try to apply it to face, I rather pump it directly on my face to avoid the hassles.
