VT Reedle Shot

VT Reedle Shot Review

Hey there! It’s been a while since I last did a product review, so I thought I’d dive into one of the most talked-about products recently: VT’s Reedle Shot! Have you heard of it? In Korea, it was so popular last winter that it kept selling out everywhere.

So, what exactly is Reedle Shot? It’s a skincare product that contains incredibly tiny needle-like structures made from mineral-based ingredients that are 14 times thinner than your pores. These micro-needles (also known as spicules) help the Cica (Centella Asiatica) ingredients in the product absorb better into your skin by lightly stimulating it. They’re made by heating and compressing refined silica with Cica components, which allows the active ingredients to penetrate through the pores more effectively.

If you’re familiar with microneedling—a popular skincare method where small needles are used to gently puncture the skin—Reedle Shot basically does the same thing but in a cream form. What’s super interesting is that while you won’t feel much if you try it on your hand, you’ll definitely feel a light tingling sensation when applied to your face.

Types of VT Reedle Shot (By Strength Levels and By Original vs. Specialized)

VT Reedle Shot comes in various strengths: 50, 100, 300, 700, 1000, and so on, and depending on the type, the frequency of use can vary. I started with VT Reedle Shot 100 and have been using it for about 6 months now.

By Original vs Specialized Ingredients

Beyond the strength levels, there’s also the Original Reedle Shot versus ones with specialized ingredients. I’ve been using the Original Reedle Shot.

  • Original Reedle Shot: For overall face care.
  • Pro Cica Reedle Shot: Targets areas needing calming.
  • Collagen Reedle Shot: Focuses on wrinkles.
  • Retin-A Reedle Shot: For pore concerns.
  • Vita-White Reedle Shot: Helps with pigmentation issues.
  • PDRN Reedle Shot: Enhances skin elasticity.
  • Hydrop Reedle Shot: Improves inner skin dryness.

The idea is to use the Original Reedle Shot for general areas and apply the specialized ones directly on problem areas for more targeted care. This way, you can tailor your routine based on specific skin concerns without needing additional serums or ampoules—the active ingredients are already in the product and absorb efficiently.

When using specialized ingredient Reedle Shot, there is no need to apply separate ampoules or essences on the treated areas. The absorption of active ingredients addresses skin concerns efficiently, simplifying your skincare routine.

What does the Reedle shot do? Do I like it?

As for my experience, I’ve noticed that my skin tone looks more even the day after I use it, and dark spots appear lighter. It even seems to reduce puffiness, though that might just be me! But overall, I can see a real difference.

According to clinical tests by VT Cosmetics, Reedle Shot helps in various ways:

  • Pores: Reduces pore count and length.
  • Absorption: Improves the absorption, depth, and speed of essence application.
  • Skin Barrier: Aids in repairing skin damage from external irritants.
  • Soothing: Calms down troubled skin.
  • Texture: Enhances skin texture.
  • Tone and Pigmentation: Improves uneven skin tone and reduces hyperpigmentation areas.

When to use Reedle shot 100? My Experience.

The recommended usage for VT Reedle Shot 100 is every night, but I found it a bit too strong at first. I currently use it once or twice a week at night, applying just a tiny amount to feel a slight tingle. I also only use soothing ampoules or essences afterward, like those containing Centella Asiatica, to keep my routine gentle. Even though retinol is said to be okay to use with it, I haven’t tried that combination yet—it seems too intense for my skin right now.

I’ve also heard great things about pairing Reedle Shot with PDRN essence, though I haven’t tried that yet. If anyone has, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I’m planning to give it a go and will definitely share my experience.

For daytime, I avoid using Reedle Shot altogether. Since it makes the skin more receptive to whatever’s applied afterward, it’s best not to layer makeup or expose it to the sun immediately after. Keep it strictly for nighttime use.

Can I use a Reedle Shot every day?

Technically, Reedle Shot 50 and 100 can be used daily according to the brand. But personally, even after 6 months, I stick to using it once or twice a week in small amounts. Everyone’s skin reacts differently, so it’s best to start slow and test how your skin responds. Initially, I applied too much and had to take a break because my skin got worse. But after figuring out the right balance, it’s been working well for me.

Is Reedle Shot safe to use?

Yes, Reedle Shot is generally considered safe. It’s undergone various tests, including dermatological testing, non-comedogenic, sensitive skin patch tests, primary skin irritation tests, and eye safety evaluations. Plus, lots of people, including myself, have seen good results. Still, here are some precautions to keep in mind:

Personally, I usually just rinse my face with water in the mornings, but on the day after using Reedle Shot, I prefer to cleanse more thoroughly with a face wash. This is just to make sure any remaining residues from the Reedle Shot are completely removed. Keep this in mind!

  • Avoid using with devices: Don’t use it with any microneedling devices.
  • Avoid after skin treatments: Wait at least 2 weeks after any skin treatments.
  • Patch test: For sensitive skin, do a patch test on areas like behind your ear or inner arm, not on your hand.
  • Avoid injured areas: Don’t apply on broken skin.
  • Be careful near the eyes and lips: Keep it away from sensitive areas.
  • Possible reactions: Redness, warmth, dryness, or itching may occur, especially for sensitive users. These usually subside over time.
  • Extended use: If used continuously for over 6 months, the skin may adapt, making the effects less noticeable. In that case, take a 2-3 week break before resuming.

Conclusion

After some trial and error, I’ve found the Reedle Shot method that works best for me: tiny amounts, once or twice a week. If you’re curious about trying it, I’d suggest slowly increasing the frequency to find your own sweet spot. I’m planning to test it with PDRN essence and maybe try the Collagen version for my under-eye wrinkles next. There’s a wide range of options and strengths, making it a versatile product for long-term use—assuming it continues to work well, of course!
